Mission

Our mission is to support and enhance the quality of life in the Arverne area by preserving and enhancing its parks, waterways and community through education, events, community engagement and conservation. We will do this in the following ways:

  • Act as a resource for information and open discussion on the environmental and community interests, issues and concerns of this unique area
  •  Assist with the management, improvement, development and conversation of the area parks, green spaces, waterways and street trees
  • Organize and support special events and activities in the community, parks and green spaces
  • Enhance artistic and recreational activities in the community, parks and green spaces
  •  Monitor potential problems, inform authorities, track solutions and utilize the information to justify budget and resource allocation
  • The issues include air and water quality, noise pollution, parks, health and safety, emergency response and preparedness

Education: Provide information and forums for discussion to improve quality of life in our community
Environment: Support and educate our community about the quality of air, water, and land
Health: Educate the community about the need for emergency healthcare services
Safety: Educate and support safe streets, parks, and beaches
Protection: Education and monitoring to support the youth, elderly and needy in our community
Humanity: Demonstrate a sincere concern for others, for their needs and well-being for Arverne and the extended Rockaway community
Respect: Value the worth of every person with acceptance, empathy, self-respect and tolerance
Responsibility: Support accountability through commitment, courage, good health, services and citizenship for our community
